CO₂ Snow Cleaning Systems

Hetair supplies integrated CO2 snow cleaning systems for precision surface cleaning before painting, coating and automated assembly. The system combines liquid CO₂ storage, pressure boosting, temperature control, flow control and a precision nozzle to provide dry cleaning for sensitive or complex workpiece surfaces. Hetair can configure the CO2 cleaning machine according to the workpiece, contamination and production requirements.

CO₂ Snow Cleaning SystemsTypes

Liquid CO₂ Storage Tank

Low-temperature long-stem ball valve DN20.

10Mpa low-temperature long-stem ball valve DN10.

10Mpa short-stem high-pressure ball valve DN10.

Co₂ Booster System

The liquid CO₂ boosting system is specifically designed to increase the pressure of the liquid CO2 supplied by the storage tank to the pressure required for the snowflake cleaning machine.

Constant Temperature Equipment

The liquid CO2 constant temperature system is specifically designed to control the temperature of liquid CO2 within the temperature range required for the snowflake cleaning machine.

CO₂ Snow Nozzle

The CO2 snowflake nozzle is equipped with an electrostatic ion air knife to complete snowflake cleaning and static elimination simultaneously. Instead of manual wiping or water washing, dry ice particles can penetrate deep into the micro-pores or crevices of products and tooling, especially those hard to reach with human hands, achieving a better cleaning effect.

Principle of CO₂ Snow Cleaning

  • Snowflake Cleaning Principle

Liquid carbon dioxide is controlled by pressure and temperature, and the moment it is ejected through a special nozzle, 1um snowflake crystals are formed.

The snowflake crystals are sprayed onto the surface of the workpiece together with compressed air to clean the contaminants on the surface of the workpiece. The cleaning principle is as follows:

    • When the snowflake crystals are sprayed onto the surface of the workpiece, they have a shearing effect on the contaminants.

    • The moment the snowflake crystals are sprayed onto the surface of the workpiece, the contaminants are rapidly cooled and deformed, reducing the adhesion of the contaminants.

    • The snowflake crystals rapidly vaporize on the surface of the workpiece, resulting in a volume expansion of 600 - 800 times, forming an instant explosion.

    • Through the combined effects of shearing, cooling, high-speed solid friction, and explosion as described above, the contaminants are separated from the surface of the workpiece. The synchronous compressed air blows away the contaminants that have separated from the workpiece, thus jointly achieving the cleaning effect.

It is particularly suitable for delicate and sensitive materials. Applicable to all materials, complex shapes, and highly automated workpieces, it is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. After cleaning oil and stains, no residue is left behind; no solvents or chemical additives are used. This process eliminates the need for water washing, drying, conveyor lines, and controls, reducing energy consumption and operational costs, aligning with energy-saving and environmental protection goals. The Hetair CO2 snow cleaning machine features a unique nozzle, constant temperature unit, and stable booster pump system, ensuring high conversion efficiency (liquid CO2 to solid snow particles). It provides optimal cleaning results, leaving workpiece surfaces dry without requiring additional heating before painting, thus saving CO2.

Hetair's CO2 snow cleaning system combines a dedicated nozzle, constant-temperature unit and stable booster system to support consistent conversion of liquid CO₂ into snow particles and reliable cleaning performance before subsequent coating processes.

CO₂ Snow Cleaning System FAQs

What is a CO₂ snow cleaning system?

A CO₂ snow cleaning system converts controlled liquid carbon dioxide into fine snow particles and directs them onto a workpiece with compressed air. The process removes surface contamination while leaving the surface dry and without chemical cleaning residue.

Does CO₂ snow cleaning leave residue on the workpiece?

No chemical cleaning residue is left because the CO₂ snow returns to gas after contacting the surface. This makes the process suitable for workpieces that need to remain dry before coating or assembly.

What are the characteristics of an excellent co2 snow cleaning equipment?

Based on the principle of CO2 snow cleaning, CO2 snow cleaning system involves using snowflake-like solid dry ice particles to impact the surface of the product. The high-speed impact produces a shot blasting and sandblasting effect, coupled with the rapid gasification and cooling effect of carbon dioxide dry ice, achieving the cleaning effect. According to this principle, the more solid dry ice particles, the better. co2 snow cleaning equipment is converted from liquid carbon dioxide through a specific device. Therefore, an excellent co2 snow cleaning equipment should have a high conversion rate of snowflake-like dry ice particles, a large number of dry ice particles, and a stable particle ejection volume.

Form: Solid dry ice is ejected without gasification, spraying steadily, leaving visible impacts on the product.

What equipment is included in a CO₂ snow cleaning system?

A complete configuration can include liquid CO₂ storage, a booster system, constant-temperature equipment and a CO₂ snow nozzle. The final configuration depends on plant conditions and cleaning requirements.
